It's Time!

The Drupal Association board is calling for nominations for elections for "At Large" Directors for 2013.

In February the Drupal Association conducted our first ever broad based elections.

The nominating committee is starting the search to fill our other vacant board positions, but it's up to members of the community to select Directors to represent the community at large on the board.

Drupal.org team week notes #8

Busy times at the Drupal.org development land! During past weeks we've launched new events page on groups.drupal.org, with the help of lisarex and primerg.

Case studies sprint on IRC happened last week. For a couple of hours we worked on migrating old case studies to the new section and a lot got done. We would like to thank Terry Hughes, Lisa Rex from Acquia, Elizabeth and Haylie from New Target, Ray Saltini from Blink reaction for joining us for the sprint. We are planning to have more of such sprints in future, so keep an eye on announcements.

We also worked on various other things listed on our working page.

Reduced Sponsorship Pricing for DrupalCon Sao Paulo!

We are excited to announce that after doing more research, we reduced DrupalCon Sao Paulo Sponsorship Pricing (Some package prices are even cut in half!). We can't put on this important event without sponsor support, so we are pricing packages to be as affordable as possible so more companies can participate.

Will you support DrupalCon Sao Paulo?

Drupal.org team week notes #7

Last week the COD team finished their summer marathon and launched five DrupalCon websites on the latest version of COD for Drupal 7. Find more details in this blog post by Jacob Redding. We'd like to say thank you to everyone who helped us make that happen.

During the past weeks it seems we've reached a consensus on the guidelines for the Marketplace and are going to move forward with the code implementation in the next few weeks.

The case studies section still needs more content and on Saturday, August 11, we are planning an IRC sprint for case study migration. Everyone is welcome to join and help us migrate some case studies! More information will follow soon.

DrupalCon + COD = OSS Love

Earlier this summer the Drupal Association made the decision to commit heavily to the Conference Organizing Distribution (COD) for all DrupalCons. We’re excited to announce that after a summer of activity in the COD issue queue we have launched five DrupalCon websites on the latest version of COD for Drupal 7.

DrupalCon São Paulo 2012: Meet the volunteers

We are all excited about DrupalCon Munich, and while everybody is working hard to assure a successful and awesome European DrupalCon in August, at the same time, the team for DrupalCon São Paulo is beginning with it’s work. Besides the continuing DrupalCon team from the Drupal Association, new volunteers from the community are on board and working for the first DrupalCon in Latin America. Let me present to you the leads of each group of volunteers:

International working sprint #2 post-sprint report

Three months ago, we began the D7 upgrade of our beloved and beleaguered D6 website by gathering about 20 to 30 of us together in Portland, OR for a week-long planning sprint. It was arduous, intense, and a lot of fun. Out of that week's worth of effort came documents, code, estimate, servers, tickets, and marching orders. Thrilled, we left Portland and got to work.

Two months later, we gathered the troops together again, but this time we did it internationally: London, Peru, and Portland! The focus and purpose of this sprint was to get people energized and moving again, determine how much had been done, and figure out what still remained to be upgraded.

It turns out we're getting close! There are large swaths of code that have been fully ported and are already functional, and there are lots of moving pieces which are settling into place and just need some polish and some love.

Here's what we've accomplished so far, and how close we are to the finish lines:

Drupal.org team week notes #6

For the past few months, we have been holding "Drupal.org Office Hours" on IRC. Each Monday anyone interested in contributing to Drupal.org development had a chance to talk to the team, get support and advice, generally see what we are working on. Lately we noticed that less and less people attend office hours. We would like to know what is the reason and how can we make office hours more efficient. Please fill out this short survey to let us know how we can improve!

Now to the updates.

Thanks to the fast feedback from mikeker, maintainer of the Better Exposed Filters module, new Events page for groups.drupal.org is very close to deployment.
