Drupal.org D7 - improving issue pages

Just like any other community website, Drupal.org has lots of places which could be changed and improved. However upgrading such a website to the next major version of Drupal is already a huge undertaking. So when we originally started the Drupal.org D7 upgrade project our goal was a straight port to Drupal 7. No major regressions, no major new features.

Nearly all sections and pages on D7 Drupal.org will look the same as they do now on Drupal 6. This includes documentation pages, project pages, case studies and marketplace nodes, issue queues, change records etc.

Webinar Wrap Up: Drupal 8 and Spark Simplify Responsive Design

Last week the DA hosted its first webinar, featuring Kevin O’Leary, Spark UX Lead, and Jesse Beach, Senior Front End Engineer. Our topic was Drupal 8 and Spark for Responsive Design. We spent a great hour reviewing the features of the D8 Spark distribution and the powerful features that it puts in the hands of content editors, wherever they may be. As a person that used to hand code web sites, the idea that I can edit a site from my phone still fills me with awe.

Calling all Drupal business leaders: Drupal business survey

Last year, the Drupal Association had to raise over $115,000 to fund the Drupal.org D7 upgrade, so we created the Supporting Partner Program. 37 very generous, early adopter companies joined this program and we exceeded our fundraising goal with their fees.

The program was very simple. Fees were based on a company’s annual revenue, and benefits ranged from a 10% DrupalCon sponsorship discount to a thank you tweet. You can see the full program details here.
