Sponsored blog post: DrupalCon pass giveaway from Palantir.net

As part of the Diamond and Platinum sponsorships for DrupalCon Portland, we've offered leaders at these sponsor companies the opportunity to guest blog on the Drupal Association site. Today's post is the first of those--written by George DeMet--announcing a DrupalCon pass giveaway from Palantir.net

Drupal Association Board Meeting: April 17, 2013

Things are moving really quickly here at the DA. From DrupalCon Portland to Governance and back again, we had a ton of content to cover in this month's board meeting. You can view the notes or the board packet as well, but here are some of the bigger bits.

Village of Oak Park DUG Community Cultivation Grant report for the DA

This post by Cathy Theys was previously published on GDO, but she gave us permission to repost it here. So many things in this story to love, from the multi-generational meetups to the start of Global Sprint Weekend. If you have a Drupal community initiative you want to get off the ground, check out the info on Community Cultivation Grants to see if you might qualify for funding.

Thanks, Cathy!

What's up with the webinars?

We’ve received some feedback expressing concerns about an email we sent this morning, promoting our mobile webinar for this Thursday. The webinar, Drupal 8 and Spark Simplify Responsive Design, Mobile, is being co-produced and presented with Acquia, which is providing the speakers and infrastructure that allows us to put on the event.

Drupal Training Day - The magic of giving back

Drupal.org team week notes #14

Drupal.org D7 upgrade

The D7 upgrade project is doing pretty good! We re-started the project having 122 open issues tagged ‘Drupal.org D7’. We are currently at 84 open issues. Fixed issues count went from 320 up to 372 issues.

Drupal Around the World: April 2013

If you know Drupal well enough to find yourself reading this, you probably know that Drupal is powered by a global community. In practice, though, it is very easy to look at your local community, your co-workers, and the people you meet at DrupalCons and think, “This is the Drupal community.”

The reality is that we each know and understand a limited slice of the community; the experiences and perspectives are different from locale to locale, sector to sector, function to function, and of course individual to individual.

From the big media journalist to the hobbyist blogger, creating content anytime, anywhere, and with any device has become as important as being able to consume it. Wouldn’t it be great if there was a simple way to let editors of all stripes post content from their iOS devices?

Guess what? There’s a module (and an app with an open source codebase!) for that.

Calling All Design Firms: Are you the next DrupalCon Designer?

Summary

The Drupal Association seeks a creative and innovative design partner to create the web and print designs for the 2014 DrupalCon events. We’re looking for people who understand that each DrupalCon is a singular expression of the Drupal community, DrupalCon location, software innovation, and extreme nerdiness and know how to turn this into compelling designs that are functional, fun, and make people look twice.

Drupal.org team week notes #13

The Drupal.org D7 upgrade project is active again and we are back with our regular week notes! During the past couple of months we mostly kept quiet because drumm and I were busy with various non-Drupal.org related tasks, such as the DrupalCon websites, association.drupal.org, etc. For the coming weeks the Drupal.org D7 upgrade is our top priority.
