We did it! The Drupal community raised $5k to bring Vincenzo Rubano to DrupalCon Portland. This is an amazing accomplishment that demonstrates that crowdsourcing to support the Drupal community can work very well.  Although it's been an idea that's been brewing for a while, we've been doing all that we could to bring Vincenzo to a DrupalCon.

DrupalCon Munich is around the corner: call for papers and registration open

As announced on stage at DrupalCon Denver, we have just opened the Call for Papers for DrupalCon Munich 2012, as well as keynotes, call for trainings, scholarships, and registration. The Drupal Association and the Munich DrupalCon committee have been preparing for the next DrupalCon for months now. Things will move into high gear once DrupalCon Denver closes its doors, later this week.

Increased Efficiencies at the Drupal Association

The past few months have been a time of great change at the Drupal Association headquarters. We've been focusing on the future of the organization, the community and the project by adjusting our governance model. We also understood that there has been some confusion about how Drupal VZW (the Belgian nonprofit that holds our membership) and DrupalCon, Inc. (the U.S. nonprofit that produces DrupalCons) interacted, and we've been working to remedy that confusion and also increase efficiencies between the two organizations.

Why and how to apply to be a permanent member or board member

February 10 is the deadline to apply to be a permanent member or board member of the Drupal Association.

Compared to last year, there are relatively few applications and even fewer for board positions. Bringing in energetic and visionary new members is an important part of the Association continuing to build strength and capacity.
