Happy birthday, Drupal community! Today is the Drupal project's 15th birthday. In honor of the upcoming year, we've put together a retrospective of some of the incredible changes and accomplishments we made together last year.
As part of our mission to grow Drupal’s adoption in global markets, the Drupal Association launched a co-marketing campaign this year that included exhibiting at major industry events in Europe. With help from our sponsors Wunderkraut (WunderUK), undpaul, and Deeson, we were able to take Drupal to two marketing industry events: dmexco, and the Festival of Marketing.
We’ve come a long way since the community started building Drupal 8 in 2011 and today we’re thrilled to say that we have an official release date! On Groups.Drupal.org, the Drupal 8 Core maintainers wrote, "Based on our experience with our successful release candidates, we are confident to announce that Drupal 8.0.0 will be released on November 19, 2015!” Congratulations to the Core team and to everyone who worked hard to make Drupal 8 a reality.
The Drupal Community is an incredibly friendly, welcoming place. For proof, look no further than Sébastien Toullec, a man who came to DrupalCon Barcelona as a true beginner with web technology, and has come away excited and passionate about Drupal.
We couldn’t be more pleased to announce that our friends over at FFW have signed on to be Signature Supporting Partners, the highest level of partnership currently available with the Drupal Association. They’re our first North American company to sign on for the package, and we’re incredibly happy that they’re on board.

Breaking a Guinness world record is no easy feat, but in 2014, the folks behind Bart’s Bash did just that. With help from Drupal, they coordinated the world’s largest-ever sailing race — a fundraising event in memory of Andrew “Bart” Simpson.

After a very busy year and a half, we're nearly done shoring up on new hires here at the Drupal Association. We’ve been working hard to bring in the best talent around, and are thrilled to announce our three new staff members: Matt, Tina, and Brad!
DrupalCamp London wrapped up on March 1st, making it the third large Drupal event in London since DrupalCon London in 2011. Over the past three years, the local events team has learned a great deal about planning a successful DrupalCamp in one of the largest and most diverse cities in the world.
