As outlined in the previous post, drupal.org got over 850k referalss from search engines' result pages in January 2008. Thanks to awstats we've got some statistics to share about people's favourite search words.

It is not surprising that "drupal" with 13.6% is the most popular search phrase. "drupal themes" and "drupal modules" come next at only 0.8% and 0.5%. I guess people usually know where to find their downloads. The next keywords are "drupal.org", "drupal theme", "drupal views", "drupal cck", "drupal cms", "drupal calendar", and "drupal module".

Further: "drupal ecommerce", "drupal templates", "drupal tinymce", and "droople".

Then "drupal download" and after that (on 16th) the first search phrase that does not have "drupal" in it: "taxonomy"!

"drupal gallery", "drupal forum", "tinymce", and "buddy list" fill up the top 20.

Let's contrast this with the what Google thinks (ie what their webmaster tools tell about drupal.org) our users click on their search result pages:

Nr. %Search phraseRank in google results

2 7%drupal themes 1

18 1% image 8

19 1% drupal 6 2

20 1% drupal cron 2

Seems fairly accurate, only the % rating is off.
