We are finally back after Drupalcon and "after-Drupalcon week" with a short week notes post.
DrupalCon..
was amazing! We've had several BOF sessions, met lots of community members and had lots of productive discussions. Drupal.org office hours BOF resulted in a "Drupal 8 call to action" block on the drupal.org front page (thanks woeldiche). Notes from other BOFs will be published as updates to their relevant issues or groups on groups.drupal.org.
Marketplace
Right before DrupalCon we deployed updates to the Marketplace. Drupal services section now has separation on Featured and All providers, Training section is not a static book page anymore, but a view of organization nodes. We are now in the process of migrating companies to the new section, which will take some time. After that we will start reviewing new requests and adding new companies.
If you are a Drupal.org webmaster or content volunteer, help us with the content migration. We'll be having a Marketplace sprint this Thursday.
Office hours
From now on we will run "Drupal.org office hours" bi-weekly, each second Tuesday at 18:00-19:00 UTC.
We also will be running additional IRC sprints for specific drupal.org related topics more often (e.g. the Case studies sprint we had some time ago).
Drupal 7 upgrade
At the DrupalCon Munich code sprint Drupal 7 upgrade team did a lot of work on Project data migration, determining the best way to handle the version number string(s) of a Project's releases, documentation was written on how to contribute suggestions and changes to drupal.org's Bluecheese theme. "Add a field to control if a given project node has releases" issue is now fixed. There used to be hard-coded column in {project_release_projects} to control if a given project has releases, but now we have a field for this that can be attached to any node type.
