The Boston home town really wants you to come to Boston. If you haven't been to Boston, you should know locals take being the home team very, very seriously.

Let me introduce you to some of the outstanding volunteers local to the Boston area who are working hard to make this conference a rousing success.

  • Jay Wolf has scouted local venues for the industry networking events, and helped with data crunching for Drupal hosting companies, Drupal hiring companies, and helped identify target communities. Buy this man a Boddington's!
  • Monique Cuvelier is leading the conference and business fair guide production. It will be a very high quality guide and help drive sponsorships due to the advertising.
  • The Commonplaces team, led by Susan MacPhee has secured facilities at MIT for the Drupal sprint. We expect over 100 people working a full day on Drupal 7!
  • Erik Britt-Webb and David Moore are helping with the education and non-profit networking events.
  • Mark Withingon put the word out to his PHP Users group and will be hosting Barry Jaspan at the PHP Users group in February.
  • Chris Wells will be helping with the drupalcon.org website
  • Andreas Pedersen is helping to recruit the 200 bloggers on Planet Drupal to blog about Drupalcon.
  • Sean Effel is planning to do some introductory Drupal training
  • Kristen Goodenough and Neil Giarratana from Lucidious Corporation are helping to spread the word in New Hampshire, and the New England development communities.

Not from Boston? You can still help.

  • We have contacted about 5/50 targeted communities we want to invite to the Drupal conference. We've made a list but need people to post events, send emails, and make phone calls. Please send me your groups.drupal.org username and I'll add you to the private group at groups.drupalcon.org/boston2008
  • We still have a long way to go towards meeting our sponsorship goals. If you know business that's making use of Drupal, please ask them to sponsor Drupalcon. We are trying to bring over 600 Drupal professionals to Boston and hold the biggest Drupal job fair ever. http://boston2008.drupalcon.org/drupalcon-boston-sponsorships

The Boston volunteer home team rocks!
