Last week we were at our historical minimum for Drupal.org D7 upgrade - 36 open issues only! We did fix some and did open some more since then. Current count is 49 open issues, 70% of which are issues discovered via our BDD test runs.

As we are getting close to the finish line, we are trying hard to ensure everything not absolutely essential is moved out of scope of issues for initial launch. dww finished porting email notifications for issues last week. So at the moment only one big blocker remains on our list, which is porting issue views to Search API. Drumm got about a third done already and it’s going good.

86% of our automated BDD tests are passing at this point. Some of the remaining failures are caused by tests which still need updating to match D7 functionality; others may due to issues with the site. By early next week, all tests remaining in our suite will be updated to match the D7 functionality.

This means that we are getting really close to the public community QA. In fact, you should expect an announcement from us next week. Stay tuned!

As always, we’d like to say thanks to all volunteers who are working with us and to the Drupal Association Supporting Partners, who made it possible for us to continue the upgrade project. The Supporting Partner Program crowd sources funds that pay for the development team’s time and Drupal.org hosting costs.

Are you guys using Rules for this? Sounds like this is a separate module :)

No, we don't use Rules. Email notifications for the issue queue are part of the Project Issue Tracking module.
