What a fantastic year for growth in the Drupal community! The past year began the Drupal Association’s board initiative to usher in new users to the Drupal community through Global Training Days, a series of free and low cost introductory trainings. The first program day started in February with 17 dedicated training companies and grew from there. You, the community, helped skyrocket the programs growth. The overall goal for the first year was 1,000 attendees, but with your help we blew it out of the water and reached over 1,500 individuals through 117 total trainings!

It was wonderful to see attendee growth as well as the international collaboration grow through the 4 Global Training Days. There were 32 in North America, 36 in EMEA (Europe/Middle East/Africa), 7 in South America, 34 in Asia Pacific and 8 online trainings.

Drupal groups in Mumbai and Minsk had success combining their Global Training Day with Drupal community events. Drupal-Club decided to fuse Global Training Day into a Drupal rally. While the Mumbai community merged Global Training Day into DrupalCamp Mumbai allowing those curious to learn about Drupal, and also meet the community which makes Drupal so great. Rachit of Blisstering Solutions, ran the Mumbai event with the following to say:

We had a huge participation, Drupal newbies, College students, and Developers from other technology communities showed up. All sessions were very interactive and people found the sessions very interactive. We had complete day and track dedicated for Training. Most exciting thing was interaction between new budding Drupalers and experienced Drupalers.

The Drupal Association would like to extend a giant thank all of our trainers from 2012 (see complete list below) for helping make this program a big success. We could not have done it without you, and hope you will join us again for 2013!

The Drupal Global Training Day schedule 2013 is March 15th, June 14th, and November 15th.
