The Drupal association permanent member candidate submissions are due on Monday. Many candidates are applying to be elected as permanent members but I wanted to highlight non-elected members who do a lot to help the Drupal association. This is not an complete list of people who volunteer for the Drupal association, but a sample.

  • Andrew Berry is the https://association.drupal.org web master and he works behind the scenes to help maintain the association website, debug problems, help with CiviCRM upgrades, and respond to dozens of technical support requests we get each year.
  • Dean Meyerson helps with fund raising for the Drupal association by managing Drupal.org ads. He works with publishing companies and hosting companies, and Drupal event producers to help ensure their advertisements drive revenue for the Drupal association. Dean donates dozens of hours per year, and in the process helps to raise tens of thousands of dollars for the association.
  • Kurund Jalmi, with the support of the CiviCRM team, has been volunteering time to help the Drupal association integrate a unified CiviCRM profile with Drupal.org's new Single Sign On solution. He has also been transitioning technical support for CiviCRM memberships from me to his employer Web Access, which is now contracting with the Drupal association.
  • Simon Hobbs helped developed analytics for measuring hosting company affiliates, developed clearer advertising policies for Drupal.org, and provided excellent customer service to dozens of hosting companies that want to help promote Drupal. Simon had recently completed his volunteer work with the association, but we continue to benefit from the many systems he has put in place.
  • Bryan House helps to answer inquiries from analyst organizations that want detailed and complex business questions about Drupal answered. In some cases, these questions can take several full consecutive days of research to complete.
  • If you want to help support the Drupal project, the Drupal association may be an organization you can work with to have a significant impact on the Drupal project. If you would like to help, please contact me.
