Dries Knapen (° January 4, 1977) studied Biology at the University of Antwerp, and has a PhD in Sciences with a specialization in genetics and ecotoxicology. He is married to Bieke Rutten, and has a daughter called Jana.
In a second career, he works as a Drupal developer, and has been a long-time contributor to the Drupal project. He is the author of several contributed Drupal modules, such as Graphstat, Simplenews and Flash Gallery.
Together with Steven Wittens and Dries Buytaert, Dries formed the Drupal Association in 2006. As the treasurer of the Association, he makes sure all funds are used wisely and are managed transparently.
