2. Drupal.org infrastructure

The Drupal association can not take credit for the amazing success of the Drupal project, but will highlight the success of the community in it's efforts to keep supporting the project. Your membership makes the Drupal.org infrastructure possible and supports:

Community members:

  • 1600 users listed as service providers.

Communications:

  • 375 000 discussion threads: forums, mailing lists, groups, etc.
  • General discussions have a 5 to 1 response rate. Support discussions have a 4 to 1 response rate. Development discussions have a 10 to 1 response rate.
  • 2800 Book pages of high quality knowledge shared.
  • 4 IRC channels with hundreds of members discussing Drupal. (Not funded by the Drupal association)

Open source development:

  • Over 2400 Drupal modules and themes available for download.
  • 8800 unique individuals participating in technical issues and 1800 unique contributors posting code patches in the last 12 months.
  • 44 000 issues filed with 160 000 follow-ups, a 1:4 response rate in the last 12 months.
  • Rate of code check-ins to be determined.

Downloads:

  • Approaching 100 000 downloads a month of Drupal core.
  • 600 000 code check-outs/month (core and contributions).

3. Drupal events

Your membership makes possible event organizing tools and Drupal events such as DrupalCons, which supports:

  • Over 2000 people attending Drupal learning sessions in 2007.
  • Over 40 unique training activities from conferences, camps, and repeating local user groups. These events were organized independent of the association but likely made use of some of the infrastructure.

Membership details

Membership fees and benefits were determined by a survey. It is also possible to pay by check by mailing to this address.

If you would like to give the association more than the membership fee you can also make a donation, offer to be a sponsor for Drupalcon, or sponsor a local Drupal event. If you choose not to purchase an individual or organizational membership you can support the Drupal project by donating to the Drupal Association. Donors will be listed, but only members will have a link to their website.

Detailed information about the association can be found in the statutes and internal regulations. Answers about donations and membership can be found in the donations FAQ.
